What You Can Expect:

We are delighted to invite you to a private forum with F.W. de Klerk, former President of South Africa, Nobel Laureate and Chairman, Global Leadership Foundation. This is an exclusive gathering entitled Africa’s Century: Defining African Leadership, that will examine the future of leadership in Africa.

It will be hosted on Monday 2 June 2014, 16:00 for 17:00, at Ashridge Business School, Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, HP4 1NS.

Many people in business and politics have begun to call the 21st century the “African century”. With its enhanced peace and stability, rapid economic growth and natural resource endowment, Africa is on the rise and seen as a major investment opportunity. However, for Africa to move forward, trustworthy and transparent leadership and good governance (both political and corporate) need to be further established to ensure economic sustainability.

Hosted by ETK Group and Ashridge, this event will provide new insights into Africa’s economic development and examine how to develop the leadership required  to tackle some of the most pressing issues facing the continent today.

Join us to hear a panel discussion with:
F.W. de Klerk, former President of South Africa, Nobel Laureate and Chairman, Global Leadership Foundation

Dr Nkosana Moyo, Founder and Executive Chair, Mandela Institute for Development Studies. Former Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the African Development Bank

Topics to be considered include:

  • Africa’s economic challenges, and the environment created for leaders
  • The requirements for leadership – drawn from F.W. de Klerk’s experience of macro-change management
  • Strengthening leadership as a strategy for economic development
  • Governance and sustainability in African business
  • Structure, scalability and sustainability of African business.

We intend this to be an interactive session, so please come prepared to put your questions to our panel.

We very much hope that you will join us on 2 June 2014.
